You heard it (Well you probably haven’t). Rumors have it that Apple will be brining in a new line of MacBooks (the polycarbonate white shell kind). Apparently they’re going to be slimmer, and sleeker. Head here to read more:

Google now lists the Korada Tech Blog as the number 1 listing for the search terms : “Korada Tech Blog”. They indexed us! Google indexed us! Yahoo and Bing haven’t yet, but that’s maybe because I haven’t even added this site to their “decision” list. I’ll get to that now.

Well folks, it’s Google’s 11th Anniversary. I was a bit confused when I opened up my web browser, and I came to a Googlle on the homepage. See the 11 resemblance of the “ll’s”? Yeah, that’s a 11. Well then, happy birthday Google!

Oh wow. This is a beautiful computer. It looks like a MacBook, but it runs Windows 7! (By the way, you can run Windows on a Mac by using built-in software known as BootCamp).

This right here is the HP Envy 15, and I’m sure they’re not yet out. These things have the MacBook Unibody design, so if you crave the designs Apple makes, but don’t like the price/operating system, this right here would be your choice. Here’s the link to a more in-depth article . (http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/15/hp-envy-13-and-15-bring-luxury-to-the-everyman-look-like-macboo/)

Windows 7 is less than a month away (26 days to be exact)! What’s this Windows 7 you speak of, you say? Well, to put it short, Windows 7 is Microsoft’s newest operating system. You know, like Windows 98, 2000, XP, and Vista.

Some of you might know, but a lot of people said Microsoft Vista was a “failure.” To be honest, I don’t think it’s a complete failure. The eye-candy and Aero were great! (Thought they hogged up system memory a bit.) Windows 7 addresses and fixes a lot of these issues that people had with Windows Vista. Also, it can run on more computers than Vista can, because it’s requirements are much lower. If you can run Vista, you can run 7, and it might be a good option to. Some people can get Windows 7 Upgrade free if you bought a computer in the right time. Below are some screenshots of 7, compared to XP and Vista. (All images are owned by Wikipedia)

So I don’t know how many of you have heard of Facebook Lite. It’s basically just a stripped down version of Facebook, but still has more features than the iPhone and mobile version of facebook, and is desktop oriented (rather than compared to a mobile phone). The link is simple, just https://lite.facebook.com. See how the “s” is there in the “https://” protocol? This makes the site more secure to other people that are trying to view stuff that you post. So go ahead and use the “https://” just in case.

Note: For use on the MHS network, you must type in https:// every time you load a new facebook (lite) page, such as when you log in.

Well. At my school today, there was this little program called Cyber Defense, where we were given a computer (a XP virtual machine) and were told to secure 13 vulnerabilities that it contained. Ohhhh joy. We had a total of six hours to do this. Unfortunatley, we were 1 minute past the deadline, but were placed 2nd. To be honest, it was quite fun.

There were a LOT of mistakes, and I mean come on, it was only a BETA testing, we had no clue what we were up against. What we were expecting was a continuous string of attacks, so our first protocol was to cut off all communications, and toughen up security. Unfortunately, that led us to messing with the wrong services (like Telephony) and managed to crash our computer, it’s Windows Update, and somehow, Internet Explorer. We got them to work again, but we just decided to restart the whole thing with only 1 hour remaining. So we did. And we fixed all the patches, and the antivirus, and we fixed 11/13 vulnerabilities by the end of the 4:30 deadline. The only reason we didn’t get all 13/13 was because we fixed those other two, but the “Scorebot” wouldn’t load, and the reboot after installing some of the hotfixes took a minute too long. Well, there’s always next year, and this time, we know what we’re up for.

So lesson learned here? UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE! Oh, and run some anti-virus too. :D

So, I installed Vista on my Boot Camp partition the other day, and everything seemed great. Except one little thing. I couldn’t access my Mac OS X partition from the Windows side.

Well, luckily, there’s a free program that I came across known as HFSExplorer. It is really neat, and luckily, it’s free (and open source I believe). If you have faced the problem of not being able to access your Mac OS X files from the Windows side, this is the solution. Here what it can’t do though : It won’t WRITE to the Mac partition, but that’s a good thing so if some nasty virus comes along your way, it won’t affect your Mac side. Go ahead and install, but you might need to install JavaRuntime if it’s not on your computer already.

*Here’s a great tutorial that I came across while looking for help :
